Composed in 1992, Sheherazade by Alireza Mashayekhi (b.1940), is a masterpiece of the Iranian solo piano repertoire. This 2nd CD of the series “100 Years of Iranian Piano Music” by pianist Layla Ramezan alternates between the piano piece by Alireza Mashayekhi, a reading of the tale, and improvisations on the Zarb and Santur.
